The photo depicts a crowd of people at the stalls on the occasion of a church fair, on St. Anna’s Day. We can see festively dressed adults and children. There is an inscription on the back of the photo: “The photo taken on 26th of July 1932 during a Church fair on St. Anna’s Day in Puszcza Mariańska Village with a view of the Community building. Taken by (…) the local organist from Puszcza Mariańska, former Korabiewice Community, former Skierniewice district”; July 26th, 1932, Puszcza Mariańska Village, Łódź voivodeship ; The photo sent to the contest named “Photography of the Polish village pre-1948” organized in 1983 by the quarterly “Fotografia” (Photography) and the weekly “Nowa Wieś” (New village). Copy of the photo kept at the Institute of Archaeology and Ethnology of the Polish Academy of Sciences (former Institute for the History of Material Culture)
