The collection includes artefacts in the form of coins and silver cakes, obtained during archaeological research conducted by the Kalisz Archaeological Site of IAE PAS. These are finds dating from the early Middle Ages to the present day. In this collection, the denars deserve special attention, as they were a coin in circulation in Poland at the turn of the 11th and 12th centuries. Some of them were probably minted in the Kalisz mint by the palatine Sieciech and the prince Zbigniew. The collection also includes unique button bracteates dating back to the second half of the 13th century, which may have been issued by the last Piasts of Greater Poland.
