RCIN and OZwRCIN projects

Collection

Literature

The collection contains various, multilingual text documents, maps and atlases. The literature digitalized and made available to the public, most often in the form of searchable PDF files, includes selected items from the collections maintained by the Institutes comprising the RCIN. The collection covers a wide range of topics related to the scientific disciplines practiced by the Institutes. User will find here items from humanities and social sciences, mathematics and natural sciences, medical or technical sciences. There are both purely scientific publications as well as resources related to discoveries, formation and development of particular disciplines and cartography. Numerous items represent fiction and travel literature, but also manuscripts of famous scientists or writers. Among the items on display are those currently published by the Institutes as well as older prints, including dictionaries, bibliographies, teaching manuals, and instructions and handbooks. Some items are unique in Poland or even worldwide, such as rare old prints, early maps and atlases, or unpublished scientific papers. Due to the diversity of topics included in the materials, they may be of interest not only to academics and students, but also experts, journalists, hobbyists or students. The collection may be searched as a whole or, to reach a given type of material more quickly, by selecting one of its sub-collections, such as books and book chapters, journal issues and individual articles, old prints (items published before 1800), maps and atlases, dissertations, manuscripts and typescripts. We also encourage you to explore the sub-collections of individual Institutes. Most of the objects have been placed there in parallel, but the Institutes have organized them in their own way to make it more convenient to reach the content desired.
