The photo shows young people in elegant dresses posing in a park. As described by the owner of the photo the young people are an amateur drama society from Starce Village. They played dramas in the fire station of the Voluntary Fire Brigade. The photo was taken in a park at Starce on 21st of May 1918, after the first performance. There is an inscription on the back of the photo: “Amateur group Starce May 21st, 1918”; Starce Village, Sieradz voivodeship ; The photo sent to the contest “Photography of the Polish village pre-1948” organized in 1983 by the quarterly “Fotografia” (Photography) and the weekly „Nowa Wieś” (New village). The copy of the photo in the possession of the Institute of Archeology and Ethnology of the Polish Academy of Sciences (former Institute of the History of Material Culture)
