The photo shows a fire brigades competition in a large square in a city. There are visible three fire engines and estreched water hoses. A crowd of people are around the place. Spectators are also in the windows and on balconies, a few also on the roof. In the foregroundthere are men in uniforms, both typical fire brigade uniforms with helmets and ones military-like. As described by the photo owner this was a fire brigades contest in Sieradz. The Voluntary Fire Brigade from the Starcy Village took part in this competition. It was the oldest fire brigade of the voivodeship. Summer 1925, Sieradz ; The photo sent to the contest named “Photography of the Polish village pre-1948” organized in 1983 by the quarterly “Fotografia” (Photography) and the weekly “Nowa Wieś” (New village).
