Clinical, anatomical and histological diagnosis
Histological diagnosis: Haemorrhagia cerebro-meningealis recidivens. Autopsy examination of 45-year-old patient was performed. Neuropathological evaluation in light microscopy was based on brain paraffin sections stained by H-E and Van Gieson's stain. The cerebral cortex specimen revealed massive subdural hemorrhage with significant symptomatic reaction and the presence of macrophages. In the neural tissue from the temporal lobe, bleeding corresponding to the hemorrhage edge were seen. Similar were found in the cerebellum and the surrounding tissue revealed a lesion of incomplete necrosis type. Lesions visible subarachnoidally were older than the large parenchymal haemorrhage.
