Abstract:

Histological diagnosis: Haemorrhagia cerebri et subarachnoidealis. Status lacunaris. Autopsy examination of 66-year-old patient was performed. Neuropathological evaluation in light microscopy was based on brain paraffin sections stained with H-E and Van Gieson's method. The edge of a fresh hemorrhagic focus was visible in the cerebellum. The borderline tissue was relaxed, glial and vasculature stimulated. Some Purkinje cells showed features of hemogenization disorder, segmental atrophy. Numerous perivascular cavities in the striatum and inner capsule. The vessels were moderately atherosclerotic. Small vacuolations of nerve cells were observed in the cortex. Blood was found in the subarachnoid space
