Clinical, anatomical and histological diagnosis
Histological diagnosis: Focus post haemorrhagious cerebelli.Autopsy examination of 62-year-old patient was performed. Neuropathological evaluation in light microscopy was based on brain paraffin sections stained with Hematoxylin-eosin and van Gieson method. In the cerebellum, near the recess of the dentate nucleus, an old malacia post-hemorrhagic focus containing a circular connective tissue scar in the center was seen. Single astrocytes and macrophages, loaded with hemosiderin, were observed in the thinned substrate. Very severely atherosclerotic altered vessels were numerous in the brainstem.
