Most observational disciplines, such as traffic, try to infer the properties of an unfamiliar system from the analysis of a measured data of its behavior. There are many highly developed techniques associated with traditional time series analysis. The paper focuses on the possibility of applying a new approach, such as neural networks and time-delay embedding, which can give insights not available with those standard methods. The possibility of designing appropriate neural networks for prediction of time series on the basis of information obtained from stochastic modeling was investigated.
