Clinical, anatomical and histological diagnosis
Histological diagnosis: Haemorrhagia cerebri recens.Histological diagnosis.Autopsy examination of 56-year-old patient was performed. Neuropathological evaluation in light microscopy was based on brain paraffin sections stained with Hematoxylin-eosin and van Gieson method. The periphery of the hemorrhagic focus revealed no symptoms of prior malacia. Instead, a field of necrosis from compression, incomplete, involving the white matter and an adjacent segment of the frontal cortex was seen. There was a narrow band of thrombotic necrosis in the margin itself. Collagen fibers were quite abundant in the meninges. The adventitia of the middle arteries was fibrotic. In the cortex, except for the immediate vicinity of the focus, the cellular losses were rather modest.
