Description:

Clinical, anatomical and histological diagnosis

Abstract:

Histological diagnosis: Focus haemorrhagicus in regione lobi frontalis haemisphaerii dextri. Haemorrhagia subarachnoidealis. Aneurysma arteriae communicantis anterioris.Autopsy examination of 44-year-old patient was performed. Neuropathological evaluation in light microscopy was based on brain paraffin sections stained with Hematoxylin-eosin, orcein and van Gieson method. In the right cerebral hemisphere, a hemorrhagic focus edge with blood masses was found in the frontal lobe. At the edge of the hemorrhage, some vessels were filled with leukocytes, with few extravascular leukocytes were present. Vascular petechiae were present around the focus. The cortex in the region surrounding the hemorrhage was characterized by pale, damaged cells. A large subarachnoid hemorrhage was present in the frontal region. In the specimen corresponding to the aneurysm, a vessel with a partially normal wall was seen, and in 1/3 of the periphery with an indistinct, obliterated pattern. The vessel was surrounded by hemorrhages.
