Clinical, anatomical and histological diagnosis
Histological diagnosis: Haemorrhagia cerebri probabiliter secundaria ad focem ramolitionis.Autopsy examination of 82-year-old patient was performed. Neuropathological evaluation in light microscopy was based on brain paraffin sections stained with Hematoxylin-eosin and van Gieson method. The specimens from the right side showed a hemorrhagic focus, destroying the cortex of the islet, preserving the claustrum in part. Circular, perivascular hemorrhages were found in the edge of the focus. In the putamen, caudatus and partly in the thalamus - perivascular lacunae, often extensive, indicating quite significant previous tissue destruction were observed.
