Biosafety in Virological Laboratories

The author presents the importance of preventing infections of the laboratory personnel and the contamination of the environment. The most common reasons for the within-laboratory infections and theanalysis of potential routes of contamination of the environment are demonstrated. The rules for planningvirological laboratories and organizing work in them are presented on the basis of the author’s experience,conclusions after visits in laboratories in other countries and published data.
