Abstrakt:

In connection with setting up of the Wigry Landscape Park, in 1981 the current state of Wigry Lake zooplankton was investigated. Numbers as well as the species and trophic structure of rotifers and crustaceans were analysed. The results were compared with the data obtained in 1922. It was found that the changes in zooplankton structure, having taken place during 60 years, testify to advancing eutrophication of the lake. The progress of this process is not identical in all lake basins. The northern basin seems to be most eutrophicated, because the Czarna Hańcza River which flows into this basin carries large pollution loads.
