The article discusses the phenomenon of fashion in ecclesiastical language. It studies this question on the example of the term kerygmat, borrowed from Greek. First a sketch of thehistory of the word is presented, observing the first attestations of the word in the Polish language, followed by an exploration of its meaning and the reasons for its use, and the recent growth in its frequency of occurrence. The final part presents general conclusions concerning reasons for fashion in ecclesiastical language.
