Tytuł: The Ability to Learn as One of Key Competencies – from the Perspective of Foreign Language Teachers

Abstrakt:

The article discusses the ability to learn as a key competence analysed in the context of the implementationof the assumption of the European policy and Polish regulations in this regard by foreign language teachers.The study contains results of poll research aimed at verifying the opinions and attitudes of respondents relatedto their influence on the language learning competencies of their students. Results show that although thedefinite majority of teachers find this aspect to be important and declare that they take it into account whenplanning and organising classes, their knowledge on the matter is not structured and rather fragmentary.Few responses of research subjects indicate a holistic perception of the matter and conscious organisationof the learning and teaching process in this regard.
