Antisense makes sense in protein biosynthesis regulation
Committee on Biotechnology PAS ; Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry PAS
Protein biosynthesis occurs in nature with frequency error better than 10""^. Regulation ofpolypeptide synthesis is caused by several factors. Recently the effect of antisenseoligonucleotides on peptide synthesis in vivo as well as in vitro has been presented. The specificrecognition of substrate by ribozyme is also determined by sense-antisense hybridization reactionof ribozymes flanking sequences.
