Bioconversion of D-sorbitole into L-sorbose with immoblized bacterial cells
Komitet Biotechnologii PAN ; Instytut Chemii Bioorganicznej PAN
Gluconobacter sp. cells were immobilized in three different earners: agar, calcium alginateand K-carrageenan. In all the three eases we achieved good conversion of D-sorbitol into L-sorbose. The best effeets were obtained while using alginate as a carrier. The yield of bioconversionreached about 80% as soon as after in 31 hours of the process, at pH=7 and density of thesuspension 2,2 10^°/ml. Using agar as a carrier, a similar yield (about 80%) was achievedduring 43 hours of the process, at the density of suspension 4,0 10 /ml. Carrageenan usedas a carrier gave a little worse result — the yield of about 70%
