Abstrakt:

Numbers of various groups of insects on the edges and middle of severalhectare rye and winter wheat field were compared. In general, the numbers and percentage of phytophages were higher in the middle of fields, whereas the numbers and percentage of zoophages were higher on field edges. On the edge of cereal fields Hymenoptera were always the more numerous group, both the parasitic and phytophagous species, whereas Heteroptera were always more numerous in the middle of the fields.
