Description:

Muscle segment examination in light & electon microscopy

Abstract:

A15-year-old patient with suspected muscular dystrophy was examined.A biopsy of biceps sinister was taken.Fiber splitting and loss of myofibrils were visible. The sarcomere pattern was disturbed,abnormal mitochondria characterized by light mitochondrial matrix and devoid of cristae were observed.In some muscle cells altered cell nuclei were visible.
