The paper focuses on contemporary research dealing with ethnocultural transformations in Ukraine conducted by Ukrainian scholars. Recent study on Ukrainian culture revealed many problems crucial to the understanding of those transformations. Researchers investigated ethnically mixed areas of the country which allowed them to touch upon such topics as: problems of ethnic minorities, difficulties to maintain the traditional culture, aspects of the functionality of language, migration processes, activities of national organizations, international relations, ethnic discrimination, and attitudes towards the state power structure
