Pages 29-31 ; 24 cm ; Bibliographical references (pages 30-31) ; Abstract in English
The author of the article draws attention to the possibility of making use of phenology when elaborating bio1ogical methods for control of the pests of fruit trees. In the author's opinion studies on the connection in time between the development of cultivated plants and appearance of parasites and predators-pest insects in agriculture would be of great importance to biological methods of pest control. Such studies should be carried out in several of the agricultural and climatic regions of Poland in open areas of cultivated fields and in large orchards near natural mixed wooded land. The author considers that such studies are essential to the elaboration of effective methods of biological plant protection, the application of which would limit the danger of the deleterious consequences in biocenoses of cultivated fields of the mass application of phytopharmaceutical preparations.
