In the submitted paper are presented main accomplishments of a complex geological, geophysical and archeological study of some ancient Egyptian structures in the aren of the necropolis of Memphis near Cairo. The largest attention has been paid to the area of the Czechoslovak concession at Abusir where a systematic sounding and excavating activity has been maintained since I960. The character of the work performed and the results presented here can be considered as the first experiment of this kind which was carried out to serve Egyptian archeology in this area
