Trichoderma reesei QM 9414 and T. viride F-19 were cultivated in various media, and cellulase, xylanase and lityc enzymes (chitynase,y3-1,3-glucanase) in the culture filtrate were measured. The lytic enzymes and chitynase were best produced by T. viride F-19 on the mycelium o1 Aspergillus n/ger and chitin, respectively. Low levels of chitinase in the extracellular culture fluids of T. reesei QM 9414 were detected. The ratio of cellulase to xylanase in the culture fluids of T. reesei QM 99414 varied with the nature of thecarbon source and temperature.
