The biodegradation of phenol in the presence of potassium cyanide by some Pseudomonas bacteria was investigated. Phenol was used as a source of carbon and energy and cyanide as a cometabolite. It was proved that different strains of Pseudominas were able to simultaneous degradation of phenol and cyanide in a confined degree, depending on the way of adaptation to these substrates.
