Abstract:

The report presents current problems of patent protection of new inventions in biotechnology inPoland, the USA, the countries belonging to the European Patent Convention and in Hungary. Amongothers, problems of distinction between discoveries and inventions, protection of method of manufactureof microorganisms and microorganisms per se, requirement of deposit of new microorganisms are discussed.
