Biosynthesis and properties of selenocysteine — 21®*^ amino acid of the diverse genetic codeare discussed. New structural pecularities of Sec-tRNA^®'' as mRNA are crucial for incorporationof selenocysteine into some proteins. Pseudoknot structure can be formed within mRNA andplay a regulatory role in translation.
