Abstract:

The mechanism of biological phosphorus removal in activated sludge is not fully understood.On the other hand, the enhanced biological P-removal techniques are satisfactorily used in manyfull-scale wastewater treatment plants. In the paper, factors which influence the effectivenessof biological phosphorus reduction are discussed.
