Muscle segment examination in light & electon microscopy

Abstract:

An 29-year-old patient with suspected metabolic defect was examined. A biopsy of quadriceps sinister was performed. Light microscopy analysis revealed normal structure of muscle fibers. Ultrastructurally, altered mitochondria were observed. They were characterized by total or partial lack of mitochondrial cristae. Presence of fatty droplets in cytoplasm were observed
