Abstract:

The new genus Rhamphidera Skelley (type species: Chasmatodera perplexa Skelley) is described. New species described are Rhamphidera eureka Skelley and Chasmatodera mystica Skelley. A key to, and descriptions of, the members of Rhamphidera Skelley and ChasmatoderaArrow are presented. Label data indicate that Rhamphidera eurekalives with fungus growing termites, Protermes prorepens (Sjöstedt) (Isoptera: Termitidae). Similarly modified structures of other species in these genera indicate they are also termitophilous.
