Photography (scan from a slide). Fragment of a tribal feast of Bhils dedicated to the goddess Gauri. Festival lasts for about 40 days and takes place during the rainy season. Every day a group of men from the tribe dancing in the next village. Culminating holiday in this region is in the suburbs of Udaipur and there are a few hours of dancing and playing a scene from tribal mythology, the most of them connected with life of a deity Rai Budiya. At the end of the procession holy figure of the goddess Gauri is thrown into the water. In the picture one of the actors-participants in the ceremony sustained fire in the center of the square, around pending show and dancing. On the ground there are pieces of dried cow dung (dung), which are used as a material to set a fire. Next lie the stones and the chain (hangar), which the actors use to strike the body during a trance. In the background you can see the audience - women sitting around the center and actors
