Po włączeniu w 1952 roku w struktury Polskiej Akademii Nauk, Zakład Dendrologii i Pomologii w Kórniku uzyskał środki finansowe na inwestycje. Wybudowano pierwszy budynek Zakładu, mieszczący pracownie, laboratoria i dział administracyjny. 1.
