Object description:

First characteristics of chocolate flint containing an attempt to determine distinct features of flint "Zele" type from Wierzbica mine was given by R. Schild (1971). There were three levels of occurrence of flint concretions at the Wierzbica „Zele” site. They occurr in two types – as large plates and as nodule-like concretions. Raw material extracted at Wierzbica „Zele” site differs from other similar varieties of chocolate flint by weaker lustre and the occurrence of clear demarcation between black and brown chocolate colour in the flint mass of some part of concretions
