Abstract:

The principles of construction, function and operation of potentiometric and amperometricenzyme electrodes have been described. The range of application of these electrodes can besignificantly extended by the use of more than one enzyme immobilized acting in sequences orparallelly. Bioselective membrane electrodes using tissue materials as biocatalysts have beendescribed as well as the use of enzymes in electrochemical immunoassay.
