Abstract:

The number of overwintering adults grew with the distance from the shelterbelts. Shelterbelt did not affect the numbers of the summer generation of beetles or of any of the instars. With the growing distance from the shelterbelt the eggs laid by the Colorado beetle increased in number. The reduction rate of younger in stars increased with a decrease in the distance from the shelterbelt and with time. No such relations could be seen in the case of eggs or instars L4.
