Archeologia Polski T. 61 (2016)

The article shows main achievements of Dr. Eleonora Tabaczyńska – a co-participant of excavations on many important archaeological sites in Poland (Biskupin, Kołobrzeg, Nakło, Poznań, Sandomierz, Wrocław, Zawichost) and Italy (Torcello on the Venice Lagoon, Castelseprio in Lombardy, Capaccio Vecchia and Civita di Ogliara in the south of Italy). She also carried out studies on early medieval handcraft, mainly amber and glass-making. The discovery – a result of excavations conducted as part of Polish-Italian cooperation – of glassworks from the 7th – 8th centuries on Torcello Island triggered her studies on Venetian glass making, which resulted in her many works dedicated to this issue. She is the author and co-author of numerous publications, published in print in Poland and Italy.
