Abstrakt:

In this paper a new alternative interpretation of the Biskupin’s type settlements was proposed. Those settlements are generally recognised as the hillforts. The different interpretation of wooden-earth constructions surrounding the settlements is now proposed here. The Author maintain that they were the hydraulic engineering installations. It appoint that the Author submit the defensive character of Biskupin’s type settlements for consideration
