Photography (scan from a slide). In the foreground sits Brahmin (panda), which stores the data of pilgrims visiting Allahabad (Hindu name of Prayag city) during the Kumbha Mela. In front of Brahmin are three women who come from pilgrimage. One of them has wet hair, which means that she came here after swimming in the waters of the Ganges, where Yamuna flows into Ganges . This place is considered by Hindus to be exceptional good for the people. Brahmin offers a variety of services - saves the names of the pilgrims, checks the names of family members who visited Allahabad in the past. In addition, he takes sacrifice for the deceased ancestors. Calf cow is considered by some Hindus as a good guide to the world of the dead. In the background you can see the other pilgrims. This is done during the Kumbha Mela holiday that take place in Allahabad every 12 years (after 6 years is done semi- mela ) . This is the most numerous holiday in northern India, and Allahabad uniqueness lies in the fact that it lies at the point where the Yamuna flows into the Ganges. Place the merging of the waters shows the different colors of both water - is considered particularly auspicious for bathing during the Kumbha mela
