W niniejszej pracy przedstawiono diagnozy wszystkich stadiów rozwojowych Forcipomyia sahariensis Kieffer. Szczegółowo opisano nieznane dotąd larwy i poczwarki tej szczeciorki. Forcipomyia tuzeti Huttel et Huttel, 1952 oraz F. acanthophora Remm, 1976 zostały uznane za młodsze synonimy F. sahariensis Kieffer. Uzupełniono także klucze do oznaczania larw i poczwarek podrodzaju Forcipomyia w Polsce, dodając obecnie omawiany gatunek szczeciorki wraz z dwoma innymi: F. squamigera Kieffer i F. radicicola Edwards.
