U chomika złocistego (Mesocricetus auratus Waterhouse, 1839) zmierzono tempo zużycia tlenu, temperaturę ciała i ruchy oddechowe w zakresie temperatury środowiska od 15 do 40ºC. Obserwowano także różne formy behawioru związane z przeciwstawianiem się termicznemu działaniu otoczenia.
