Abstract:

The article examines the superpower aspirations of the Russian Federation under the leadership of President Vladimir Putin, which culminated in the military invasion of Ukraine in February 2022. This analysis reveals several fundamental factors responsible for the threats that the Kremlin’s superpower policy poses to contemporary international security systems, primarily to the political order of Central and Eastern Europe and the entire world.
