Występowanie w Polsce Anthophora plagiatu ; Distribution and threat assessment of Anthophora plagiata (Illiger, 1806) (Hymenoptera: Apoidea) in Poland
The published data summarized above, as well as data from museum collections and other researchers, indicate that this bee species is declining in Poland (Fig. 4). This applies mainly to northern and central Poland, and is due to destruction of clay buildings in rural areas. The species may have survived only in south-eastern Poland, on natural loess slopes. Its decline is important not only for conservational reasons but also because this bee - like bumblebees - is an efficient pollinator of red clover and other legumes. In the context of available published data, it appears necessary to determine the present distribution of Anthophora plagiata, both in preserved clay walls and natural nesting sites, such as loess slopes or clay banks
