Na podstawie materiału pochodzącego z wypluwek sów autor ustalił występowanie zębiełka białawego - Crocidura leucodon (Hermann) na terenie północno-wschodniej Polski (mapa Nr 1). Gatunek ten nieznacznie przekracza 53° północnej szerokości geograficznej. Na badanym terenie zębiełek białawy trzyma się przede wszystkim terenów miejskich i podmiejskich (warzywnictwo). Zdecydowanie unika większych kompleksów leśnych (mapa Nr 2). W serii 155 czaszek badanego gatunku znaleziono jedną czaszkę z wyraźną anomalia uzębienia przejawiającą się w obustronnej redukcji ilości zębów jednostożkowych z trzech do dwóch. Ilość zębów tego osobnika wynosi więc nie 28, a tylko 26 (Fot. 1, Tablica X). Autor po przejrzeniu materiału J. i W. Serafińskich pochodzącego z Doliny Nidy i porównaniu go z własnym materiałem wypluwkowym i alkoholowym, stwierdza, że 6 czaszek oznaczonych przez wyżej wymienionych jako Crocidura russula russula (Hermann) należą do gatunku Crocidura leucodon (Hermann).
