Abstract:

This paper presents the problems associated with the in vitro production of antitumor agents by planttissue culture methods. The most interesting examples of chemical compounds with cytostatic activitiesfound in tissue culture are discused: bruceantin, camptothecin, ellipticine, harringtonine and homoharringtonine, maytansine, podophyllotoxin, taxol, tripdiolide and triptolide, vinblastine and vincristine.
