Abstract:

There is an increasing interest in rapidly growing, productive and genetically stable transformed rootcultures obtained by Agrobacterium rhizogenes mediated transformation of plants. This paper is a reviewof current methods for the establishment and maintenance of hairy root cultures and factors affecting theirproductivity. A list of transformed root cultures of medicinal plants is given.
