Abstract:

Purposes, results and consequences of the First National Congress of Biotechnology were discussed. The Congress indicated the fields of biotechnologywhere Polish scientists are active, as well as the areas which have not been sufficiently investigated. Willing participation of young scientists and students inthe lectures, and their particular interest in modern biotechnology were noticed and highly appreciated.
