Description:

Muscle segment examination in light & electron microscopy

Abstract:

A new-born baby with suspected congenital myopathy was examined. A biopsy of quadriceps wasperformed.Electronmicroscopy analysis revealed some muscle fibers of small diameter and centrally locatednuclei, showing myotube-like morphology. Numerous cell nuclei were characterizedby the fission of the outer and inner membranes. Some cell nuclei were partiallyor completely devoid of a nuclear membrane. The ultrastructural image indicates retention in the development of muscle fibers and features ofnucleopathy
