Description:

Muscle segment examination in light microscopy

Abstract:

A 6-month-old patient was examined. A biopsy of biceps sinister was performed. Muscule fibers of correct diameter, preserved myofibril architecture and normal structure of the sarcomers , mixed with fibers of small diameter and separated by abundant connective and lipid tissue were observed. In some fibers electronmicroscopy analysis revealed changes in the nuclei structure-they were abnormal and folded. Also numerous fat droplets in the cytoplasm were seen.
