Abstract:

Using the results of chemical composition analyses of 376 Early Medieval silver ornaments from the area of Poland and (for comparison) Caucasus and Hungary, the author presents her achievements in establishing the origin of the raw materials. The analyses were made with the use of Optical Emission Spectrometry (OES) in the Central Laboratory (today Department of Applied Sciences) of the Institute of Archaeology and Ethnology of the Polish Academy of Sciences, and concerned ancient silver objects submitted for analysis by Professor Maria Dekówna
