W różnych biotopach leśnych założono 123 kwadraty odłowne (Ryc. 1) o powierzchni 50x50 m. Na każdym z nich ustawiono 121 pułapek w więźbie 5x5 m. Większość powierzchni była eksponowana przez 5 dni. Pułapki obsługiwano codziennie, zabierano złowione zwierzęta i jeżeli zachodziła potrzeba - uzupełniano przynętę.
